COVID-19 Updates to operations
Homestead Soapery is committed to caring for the health and well-being of our staff & customers and playing a constructive role in supporting local health officials and government leaders. Read about the latest decisions being made by the company and the actions being taken in preparation for COVID-19.
Until the threat of COVID dies down, Homestead Soapery will not be attending any public fairs or events. As a soap company, this can make it challenging as people love to touch, feel and smell soaps! But we simply cannot take any risks, measured or otherwise, as one of our founders is considered highly at risk.
We are taking proactive decisions constantly to ensure our work space is COVID safe and that includes:
- Enhanced cleaning measures: Even though one of our founders is continuing to WFH from their day job, our other founder must still go out into the COVID world for work. As a result, we take extra measures in ensuring the risk taker follows stringent de-clothing and change guidelines when coming back onto the homestead.
- Additional precautions: In addition to regular safety taken in making soap, our founders also wear masks to ensure that no soap is harmed in the process of being made (or COVIDed!)
- Local: The majority of our ingredients come from local sources. We know that our town is currently free from COVID, but we also know like our other founder, there are those that must venture out of town for other work and may bring the COVID back. But so far, we have kept the bubble around the homestead safe from wandering viruses!
All our soap purchases will be offered online, and social distancing practiced for delivery and pickups.
We hope you've managed to stay COVID free and continue to enjoy your experience at Homestead Soapery.
